A big part of our member consultation process will be conversations with you during teacher-only days.
We’ve asked worksite representatives and principals to facilitate a discussion about career frameworks during teacher-only days in late 2016 and early 2017. During the ratification process, members identified the questions that they thought were important to address through the career framework development process. These questions will be the starting point for these discussions.
We hope that by scheduling these conversations outside of student contact time, it will allow space for rich professional conversations.
Facilitating your teacher-only day discussion
Download and read the Guide for Worksite Representatives and Principals. This contains a suggested plan to run the session and identify how to feed back to the project.
Distribute the Framework Project – Member Information Sheet to everyone who’ll be attending. Each person taking part will need this information sheet because they’ll be referring to it during the discussion. We suggest you forward this document to all teachers before the TOD.
Facilitate the discussion with your colleagues using the recommendations in the Guide for Worksite Representatives and Principals.
Record the outcomes of your conversation in a way that will make it easy for you to report back. We’re collecting the feedback electronically.
When you’re ready to report back, use our online form to send your feedback to us.
The deadline for feedback is Waitangi Day, Monday 6 February 2017.
